Senarai Pencalonan Oscar 2020: ‘Joker’ Dapat 11 Pencalonan, ‘Parasite’ Cipta Sejarah & Tiada Pengarah Wanita Tercalon

Senarai pencalonan Oscar 2020 penuh kejutan & ohhh moments

Joker, filem aksi adiwira (penjahat?) tentang soon-to-be musuh Batman yang banyak mendapat kritikan hebat dan tinggi, mengungguli senarai pencalonan penuh Academy Awards ke-92 atau Oscar 2020 kali ini dengan 11 pencalonan, terbanyak secara keseluruhan.

Tiga (3) filem turut rapat di belakang dengan masing-masing 10 pencalonan; ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ – filem arahan dan lakonan Quentin Tarantino bersama Brad Pitt dan Leornado DiCaprio, ‘The Irishman’ –  yang menampilkan Robert De Niro dan Al Pacino dalam satu filem dan ‘1917’ – filem berdasarkan kisah benar di Perang Dunia Pertama.

Tidak mengejutkan apabila keempat-empat filem ini turut tercalon dalam kategori tertinggi, ‘Best Picture’

Filem-filem seterusnya yang mendapat pencalonan untuk kategori ini seperti ‘Parasite’ – filem Korea Selatan pertama yang tercalon untuk ‘Best Picture’, ‘Little Women’ – lakonan Emma Watson dan Timothée Chalamet, ‘Jojo Rabbit’ – filem komedi menampikan ‘Hitler’ dan ‘Ford v Ferrari’ – filem kisah benar tentang perseteruan dua gergasi automobil, Ford dan Ferrari.

Untuk tahun kedua berturut-turut, tiada pengarah wanita tercalon untuk kategori ‘Pengarah Terbaik’. Pencalonan didominasi pengarah dan sutrada lelaki seperti Bong Joon Ho (Parasite), Martin Scorsese (The Irishman), Quentin Tarantino (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Sam Mendes (1917) dan Todd Phillips (Joker). Sayangnya, pengarah wanita, Greta Gerwig (Little Women) tidak tercalon untuk kategori ini.

Sekali lagi, majlis anugerah filem berprestij ini bebas pengacara. Senarai pencalonan diumumkan oleh Issa Rae dan John Cho. Oscar 2020 akan berlangsung pada 9 Februari 2020 (Ahad waktu Hollywood).
